Want a solid, pro-level instrument for a reasonable price? Tone Shapers puts together guitars to showcase the parts we sell, and to finance the production costs of our GuitarGuys video series on YouTube.
Tone Shapers has guitar techs on hand with many years of experience. We're not the corner music shop, we're seasoned pros. The foundation of our business lies decades in the past, when we were a full-time repair business. We were a gold-level service center for Fender, and an A-level service center for Gibson, the highest level for both companies. So we know what we’re doing.
Consequently, you can expect a very high level of workmanship in the guitars we hotrod. We know how to get the best from the parts involved, and the end result is a guitar that plays great and sounds great – one you will be proud to play and to own, and one that doesn’t break the bank. How cool is that? Additionally, the guitars we build can be heard in our GuitarGuys videos. Each one will be showcased in a video, and then played on at least one song with a full band, so you can hear it before you buy it.
That brings up another point. We’re in the parts business, not the guitar business. We won’t have many guitars in this section at any given time, and our guitars will go quickly, as most people recognize a good deal when they see one. Unfortunately, while most players will acclimate easily to various guitars, some players really fret – pun intended – over the most minor of details. We’re not interested in sending guitars out to have the tires kicked, we’re providing detailed information about the guitars, including high-quality photos, and the ability to hear the guitar before buying. For this reason, unless the guitar is received in a condition other than stated or is materially deficient, we will not accept returns. Shipping guitars around the country – or the world – produces wear and tear on them, and we want no part of that. So please be sure before making a purchase.
Guitars you find in this section will normally be made of 100% new parts (if not, it will be clearly noted). The parts themselves will often carry a warranty - Fender bodies and necks, for instance, carry a 1-year warranty, and Fralin and Bare Knuckle pickups carry a 10-year warranty. But these guitars are being sold with no manufacturer's warranty. We are an authorized Fender dealer, so if we put together a Strat with a Fender neck, and within one year the neck becomes problematic then it would be reasonable to expect Fender to stand behind it. It would not be reasonable, however, to expect Fender to stand behind the Suhr pickups, or the Callaham bridge, or the ToneShaper wiring components. We think this is probably obvious to most customers, but thought we should state it for the record.
