Founded in 1885 in Martinsville, Ohio to manufacture auger bits, the company expanded in the 1930s to the production of Vise-Grip locking pliers, one of the most useful and popular tools of all time. Like many of these older American companies they've grown over the years through mergers and acquisitions to be a major manufacturer with many different product lines.
